Antique Giant Antiphonary / Antiphonal Manuscript 17th Century Complete
The antiphonary is made of parchment and features elaborate neume notation (Gregorian chant). Many pages are adorned with artistically designed initials, including colorfully illuminated capital letters. This manuscript was used for choral singing and, thanks to its giant letters and musical staves, can be read easily even from a distance.
The original binding is made of solid wood, covered in brown leather and decorated with ornate brass fittings on the corners and in the center. The book measures approximately 56 cm in height, 42 cm in width, and 12.5 cm in depth (about 22 x 16.53 x 4.92 inches).
This antiphonary is a true collector’s item and is ideal for museums, collectors, lovers of historical church music, or as a unique decorative piece with history. International shipping is also possible.
