Offered for sale is an antique 16th-century antiphonary, measuring 49.5 x 36 cm (approx. 19.5 x 14.2 inches).
This original liturgical choir book is entirely handwritten on vellum (
parchment). A rare testimony to ecclesiastical music and manuscript history. The volume comprises a total of 159 pages,
written on both sides and complete with no missing leaves. A section of the manuscript (approx. 27 pages) was historically added, documenting its long period of use and practical function over the centuries.
Binding worn due to age (leather abrasion). Metal fittings and clasps partially preserved. The binding remains stable, with all pages firmly attached and fully numbered. The vellum pages are age-appropriate condition.
