The antiphonary is made of parchment and features elaborate neume notation (Gregorian chant). Many pages are adorned with artistically designed initials, including colorfully illuminated capital letters. This manuscript was used for choral singing and, thanks to its giant letters and musical staves, can be read easily even from a distance.
The original binding is made of solid wood, covered in brown leather and decorated with ornate fittings on the corners and in the center.
