RESERVED MC! Antique 16th century Spectacular Antiphonary on Vellum Large Folio 61 cm x 41 cm
This Catholic liturgical work is made of parchment, which gathers Gregorian chants for the canonical hours “from Holy Saturday up to the first Sunday of Advent (inclusive),” is decorated on the title with a large ornamental design of scrolling foliage in colors with birds and a cross, as well as around one hundred initials in blue or red with contrasting penwork backgrounds in red or blue. This manuscript was used for choral singing and, thanks to its giant letters and musical staves, can be read easily even from a distance.
The original binding is made of solid wood, covered in brown leather and decorated with ornate fittings on the corners and in the center. 111 leaves numbered 1 to 111 .
