Stellarium Coronae benedictae Virginis Mariae in laudem eius... by Pelbartus of Temesvár

One of the first editions from 1498 - 1501 of this devotional work by the Romanian - Hungarian Franciscan Pelbartus of Temesvár. Complete book with 167 leaves plus 1 blank, approximately 30 × 21 cm (11,81 x 8,26 inches). Almost all pages, beautifully printed Lombard initials in red and black, including larger initials on some page in both colors. Printed on high-quality rag paper, still strong and barely darkened, in very good condition. Bound in a newer leather binding, somewhat rubbed and bumped, but with a very solid and tight structure. A wonderfully preserved incunabulum, historically valuable and aesthetically striking. The first editions of this work were printed between 1498 and 1501 in Hagenau. The writings of the Hungarian Franciscan Pelbart of Temesvár (c. 1435–1504) remain an important source for late medieval Romanian-Hungarian literature to this day.
